Meet Amelia.

Over the past few months, I've had the opportunity to apply tertiary knowledge I've gained at university to real-world situations during my Marketing Internship at LCC Group. 

From day one, I was warmly welcomed by a supportive and collaborative team who encouraged me to contribute ideas, take initiative, and ask questions. Each week, I was given a variety of tasks and responsibilities, and I particularly valued the balance between guided learning and independent work. I drafted social media posts and eDMs, planned influencer events, assisted with a client rebrand, curated media lists, attended a client breakfast event, and helped set up a stall at a construction expo. 

This internship has not only strengthened my technical and communication skills, but has also given me a clearer sense of my career goals. I had the chance to meet multiple clients, attend team meetings, and receive feedback that helped me improve and grow. The team at LCC Group was welcoming, approachable, and always willing to help. They encouraged me to contribute ideas and helped me feel like a valued part of the team, not just an intern.

A day in the life of Amelia.

  • On my first day, I was warmly welcomed by my internship supervisor over a coffee, where we discussed the internship expectations and she answered any additional questions I had. I was then introduced to the team and joined their morning meeting, meeting remote colleagues and getting a brief overview of client work. I then set up all of the applications I needed and was given some brief tasks to help get an idea of the work I would be doing over the semester.

  • The LCC team were nothing but supportive, inclusive, and open to helping me learn, creating a welcoming environment from day one. The busy and collaborative environment encouraged my learning, and I always felt comfortable asking questions and receiving feedback. Despite being an intern, everyone at LCC treated me as a valued member of the team.

  • I had the opportunity to work on a variety of tasks, including writing social media content and website copy, planning events, curating media lists, attending client meetings, and researching potential clients. My internship supervisor regularly checked in to understand which tasks I enjoyed most and tailored my responsibilities accordingly. Since I’m studying Public Relations, the team arranged one-on-one time with their PR consultant, allowing me to focus more on PR related tasks which I really enjoyed.

  • While my university studies equipped me with foundational knowledge, my internship at LCC Group elevated my learning through real-world experience. I gained a deeper understanding of how campaigns are planned, executed and evaluated, saw how agencies interact with clients and tailor strategies, and improved my written communication through feedback. I also developed practical skills in content creation, market research, digital marketing tools and media relations.

  • This internship has given me invaluable hands-on experience, strengthened my professional confidence, and clarified my interest in pursuing a career in marketing or public relations. I’m finishing my internship with improved practical skills, meaningful connections, and a deeper understanding of what it takes to succeed in the industry.

  • One of my favourite moments during the internship was helping set up a display at a construction expo for one of our clients. The team and I worked alongside the client to arrange tables, a media wall, and seating in the middle of a busy construction zone. The setup looked incredible, and we pulled it off wearing pink high-vis vests and heels!
